It was used by a variety of Navies throughout the world and saw service in the Falklands and as recently as the first gulf war. It was designed to carry torpedoes in the anti-submarine role, but was also fitted with the WE177 nuclear depth charge that was capable of destroying submerged submarines within a 20 mile radius.
